YEREVAN. - +President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday received Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Welcoming the guest, the President noted that Armenia highly appreciates the dynamically developing relations with UAE and considers the minister's visit as an important incentive for advancing those relations. Noting that Armenia values the friendly relations formed between the two friendly states as early as during the office of late President Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Sargsyan lauded the fact that the bilateral interstate relations are developing and strengthening day by day.

He also recalled with warmth his visit to UAE last spring, which gave new qualitative impetus to the bilateral relations. The Armenian President expressed hope that FM Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan's visit to Armenia will enrich the Armenian-UAE cooperation agenda with new substance.

Thanking the President for the warm reception, the IAE FM, for his part, expressed conviction that the relations between Armenia and UAE can proceed at a higher speed, the leadership of the two countries having political will and solid basis existing for the continuous formation of those relations.

The UAE FM also thanked the Armenian President for granting in a facilitated manner Armenian entry visa to those, who have right of residence in UAE, according to the agreement reached with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as visa waiver for UAE citizens. According to him, this was a great and important step for both countries.

Furthermore, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan noted that there is significant work to be done in the sphere of tourism, energy, agriculture and a number of other spheres in order to fully realize the existing cooperation potential. He also expressed willingness to focus the efforts with his Armenian counterpart on this.

At the meeting, reference was also made to regional issues and challenges, as well as the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
