Permanent representative of Russia to OSCE Alexander Lukashevich has informed about the possibility of a meeting between Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev, RIA Novosti reports.

“Recently a meeting was held in Brussels with the participation of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia. There is certain possibility that the presidents may also meet,” Lukashevich stated at a press-conference.

He also informed about the intention of the OSCE Minsk Group to “intensify their efforts.”

“Meeting between the foreign ministers of the two states is being prepared in New York, after which certain preparatory measures will be taken for raising the level of work with the sides in terms of preparing a new high-level meeting,” he stated.

The Russian permanent representative also noted that the most important thing is to retain the dynamics of the dialogue and not allow the sides to go into resistance, which threatens to disturb the balance of forces in the region.
