Uranium fields have been found between the villages of Pkhrut and Lernadzor, Syunik region, Armenia. The RA Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has provided a 600-page report to the Parliament member Zaruhi Postanjyan.

Speaking in Parliament, Postanjyan stated the document indicates the amount of uranium in the field. Earlier, responding to Postanjyan’s question, RA Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Armen Movsisyan stated the prospecting had not been completed.

Now, however, the Minister confirmed that uranium has been found in Armenia. In fact, Armenia has for the first time announced the existence of uranium. The Minister stressed that no industrial exploration is carried out yet.
