Tropical storm Max has formed off Mexico’s southwestern Pacific coast.

The US National Hurricane Center said Max formed about 185 kilometers west-southwest of the resort of Acapulco, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia. It had sustained winds of about 65 kph.

The hurricane center said Max could release torrential rains over the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca.

Meteorologists do not rule out that these heavy rains can cause floods and landslides in the affected areas.
