Over 91 percent of voters said “yes” to independence in Iraqi Kurdistan referendum, preliminary results show.

This means 3.4 million of voters supported independence, RIA Novosti reported quoting election commission of Kurdistan. Only 8.17 of voters said “no” to independence.

All Iraqi citizens registered in Kurdistan or Kurdish regions – around 5.2 million – could vote in a referendum.
