Moldavian incumbent President Vladimir Voronin has officially announced about his resignation today, September 11, on TV.

“With a heavy heart I loosen the reins of government to the new power. Now the team of my supporters and followers, that was formed within eight years together with me joins the opposition,” declared Voronin stressing he considers unacceptable the policy the new authorities intend to pursue. “I do not believe that politicians united solely on negation emotions and entire defamation of their country as well as division of the posts is capable of offering a positive program to the society,” Voronin added.

As stated earlier, Voronin intends to focus on parliamentary work after the resignation, leading the oppositional party of communists.

President of Moldova signed a decree on resignation of Moldavian PM Zinaida Greceanii and seven Ministers that will assume duties in Parliament.
