Unknown are breaking into the hotel Mardan Palace in Turkish resort city of Antalya and are taking away the gilded elements.

 Mardan Palace hotel was built in Antalya in 2009 by the former owner of Moscow’s Cherkizovsky market, Azerbaijani businessman Telman Ismailov, RIA Novosti reported citing Milliyet.

Mardan Palace was de-energized in the fall for non-payment of debts, staff left the hotel territory, and the alarm was disabled. According to the publication, at night the thieves started to work at the hotel and managed to steal at least seven sections of the gilded fence and garden decor items.

Seven-star hotel Mardan Palace was built by Ismailov for 1.4 billion dollars. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, as well as actors Richard Gere, Sharon Stone, Monica Bellucci and other celebrities.
