Slovenia started voting in the second round of the presidential elections, RIA Novosti reported.

Voters choose between the current president of the country Borut Pahor and former actor Marjan Sarec.

No candidate was able to secure a 50% in the first round on October 22.

Borut Pahor, as independent candidate, received 47.21% of the vote. The former actor and mayor of Kamnik, Marjan Sarec scored 24.76%. Voter turnout reached record low 44.23%. Overall, 1.7 million citizens in Slovenia have the right to vote.

Sociological researches predicts Pahor’s victory in the second round. The President of Slovenia receives a mandate for a five-year-term.
