The United States Department of Justice does not exclude the possibility of launching an investigation into Hillary Clinton and her foundation’s role in the so called “uranium collusion with Russia”, Fox News reports.

The head of Justice Department Jeff Sessions ordered to consider all the issues that were mentioned in the letter. The republicans asked to investigate the activities of Clinton family foundation, as well as their transactions concerning the purchase of Uranium One company by “Rosatom” agencies.

Nonetheless, it was remarked by the Justice Department that this is not a confirmation of the launch of investigation. Also, the ministry may consider hiring a special counsel for investigation of Clinton activities.

The republicans assume that the previous administration of Barack Obama did not investigate the suspected corruption when making the transaction. Clinton was accused of being under Russia’s influence because of the donations that were received by her foundation from the founder of Uranium One Frank Giustra. Giustra donated to President Bill Clinton more than $31 million after their joint visit to Kazakhstan where he won a competition for the development of deposits of uranium ore.

Moreover, in 2008-2010 Uranium One donated Clintons $8.65 million in total. In 2010, Bill Clinton received $500 thousand for his speech in Moscow, by an anonymous “Russian investment bank”. According to media, the bank serviced the transactions of purchase of Uranium One by “Rosatom”. Journalists inferred that money from Russian government paid by the founder of Uranium One could get into the foundation of Clinton family.

President Trump repeatedly criticized the department of justice for not investigating Clinton’s activities. At the same time special counsel Robert Mueller and the committees of both chambers of Congress investigate Russia’s intervention into U.S. elections, as well as Trumps relations with Russia, the existence of which was rejected both by Kremlin and the White House.
