Saudi Arabia has recalled its ambassador to Germany, “for consultation,” reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

According to the source, this decision is linked to German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel’s recent statements regarding Saudi Arabia.

Riyadh, however, does not view these words by Gabriel as the position of the entire German government.

Nonetheless, the German ambassador to Saudi Arabia will be handed a respective letter of protest.
