German Chancellor Angela Merkel was unable to form coalition, which would have given her a parliamentary majority and a chance to form a stable government.

Now, Merkel is going to meet with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to determine the future course of action.

There are two options: forming a minority government, or holding a new election. 

The coalition talks were conducted in accordance with the results of the parliamentary election on September 24.
