YEREVAN. – The Karabakh issue is the issue where Russia and the other OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs (US, and France) have the same positions.

National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman, ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov, on Tuesday told about the aforementioned to reporters, after the meeting of the RPA Executive Body.

In his words, Armenian-Russian relations were discussed at this session, and it was stressed that they are developing with faith.

“In that sense, they can be described as truly allied relations,” added Sharmazanov. “We [also] discussed Russian Federation Foreign Minister [Sergey] Lavrov’s visit [to Armenia]. We assess the visit positively, since it’s connected with the 25th anniversary of [Armenia-Russia] diplomatic relations.”

In addition, the Armenian NA deputy speaker noted that FM Edward Nalbandian has given a clear message; that is, the agreements must be implemented immediately to achieve progress in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.

“This comes to prove that the Armenian side [to the Karabakh conflict] has not changed its position,” added Eduard Sharmazanov. “No precept can have priority over another precept. This word from Lavrov’s lips was a clear message to Azerbaijan.”
