The people of Armenia will sense the results of the Armenia-European Union (EU) agreement over time. 

President Serzh Sargsyan on Friday told the abovementioned to the RFE/RL Armenian Service, in Brussels.

When asked what an ordinary resident of Armenia will get from this agreement, he responded that perhaps nothing, tomorrow or the day after, but he will sense it over time because with assistance by the EU, the Armenian authorities are capable of implementing the reforms quickly. He added that aside from internal freedoms, Armenian citizens will be able to travel to Europe without any obstacles.

And when asked whether the Armenia-EU agreement will contribute also to ensuring Armenia’s security, the President said it will, especially in the case when the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are in agreement when it comes to the main challenges that threaten the country’s security. He added that this is one of the few places where they are cooperating in full.
