YEREVAN. – Armenia and Iran are developing ties in numerous directions, Iranian foreign minister Javad Zarif said in Yerevan.

Zarif thanked the people and authorities of Armenia for their response in connection with the strong earthquake in Iran.

“Iran and Armenia are good neighbors. Iran has good relations with its neighbors,” the minister said at a joint briefing with Armenian foreign minister Edward Nalbandian.

At the same time, he noted the active ties between Iran and Armenia in recent years in the political and economic areas. In particular, Mohammad Zarif noted work in the field of energy and transit, ecology, science.

The Iranian minister also expressed gratitude to the Armenian side for the support at international platforms.

“Armenia is working to preserve peace and stability in the region,” Zarif said, expressing hope for successful cooperation in all areas.
