The new research shows that the tomb where Jesus Christ reportedly was buried is more than 1,700 years old and was built 300 years after his death, Gazeta.ru reported, referring to the Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports.
The age of Jesus Christ’s Tomb was established using a technique called Optically Stimulated Luminescence, which analyzes when quartz sediment was last exposed to light.
Experts analyzed mortar from the original limestone surface of the tomb and a marble slab that covers it, which they dated to around 345 A.D.
