YEREVAN. – The situation around Iran's nuclear program will not lead to a new escalation in the region. This was stated by the well-known Russian expert, expert on Iran Karine Gevorgyan in a conversation with the correspondent of Armenian News - NEWS.am.

At the same time, the expert noted that the US and Israel are trying to “promote” this issue in every possible way.

“I think that in order to stop Iran’s growing influence in the region, they can recourse to another argumentation, which they are already doing”, said Gevorgyan, adding that Saudi Arabia has already made a serious statement about the need to reduce Iran's influence.

At the same time, the expert is sure that Washington will try “to unleash” this issue by using Kurdish and Lebanese problems, warming up the already tense situation in the region.
