The King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and the King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will lead their countries' delegations at the summit of The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC, which includes Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia) in Kuwait on December 5-6, the Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida reported quoting diplomatic sources.

Official statements about participation of the leaders have been received neither from Riyadh nor from Manama. The arrival was confirmed only by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani so far. The U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Secretary General of the Council Abdel Latif al-Zayani will take part at the summit.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that all technical preparations have been completed. The ministerial meeting of the GCC will take place on Monday, during which the agenda of the summit and the final communiqué will be determined, TASS reports.

Earlier Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE boycotting Qatar questioned the expedience of the meeting of the leaders of the GCC on the background of the crisis. In Manama, in particular, they excluded the presence of the Bahraini monarch at any meeting involving Qatar and called for freezing the membership of the Emirates in the Council. Qatar, in turn, accused the neighbors of their unwillingness to seek a way out of the crisis until the recent times.
