YEREVAN. – By way of the  Community Development through Social Entrepreneurship (CODE-SE) project, we wanted to promote the idea of social entrepreneurship in Armenia.

Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Armenia, on Monday stated the aforementioned at a conference devoted to social entrepreneurship in the country, and during which the results of CODE-SE in Armenia were summed up.

The project was implemented with funding by the EU, and co-funding by the Austrian Development Agency.

Within the framework of CODE-SE in Armenia, ten social enterprises were created and launched in six provinces of the country, and they contributed to community development.

Ambassador Świtalski added that even though they have chosen ten respective programs, the latter will boost many other good programs.

About 120 “players” in this domain attended the said conference.

Along the lines of this event, a trade fair was also organized, and where the products of about twenty entrepreneurs operating in the provinces of Armenia were introduced.
