During a talk with the heads of the delegations from churches, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that virtually all of Syria, including the places of residence of Christians, has been liberated from terrorists, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

But the Russian leader expressed a regret that religious persecution continues in the world to this day. At the same time, however, Putin said that not only do Christians suffer from such acts.

“We will help also to the representatives of other religions, including the representatives of Islam, who, as you know, have suffered a lot due to bandits, terrorists and radicals,” he added.

Furthermore, the Russian president noted that owing to Russian troops and those of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the situation in Syria is changing for the better.
