YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Nature Protection of Armenia and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed the second-phase grant program for the phased replacement of ozone depleting hydrochlorofluorocarbons; the budget for this phase will be $129,600.
In his welcoming remarks before the signing, Nature Protection Minister Artsvik Minasyan noted that Armenia fulfills its international commitments to the process of reducing ozone depleting substances (ODSs). Also, he lauded the respective ongoing collaboration with the UNDP.
Dmitry Mariyasin, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Armenia, for his part, stressed that Armenia has become a leader in the efforts to reduce the level of usage of ODSs.
