The Iranian parliament urged Muslim countries to sever diplomatic ties with Israel and scale down the economic ties with the US to the minimum after US President Donald Trump’s decision on Jerusalem, IFP News reported.

In a joint statement on Tuesday, 235 MPs of Iranian Parliament condemned the US President Donald Trump’s decision to relocate US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

“We, the lawmakers of the Iranian Parliament, call on Islamic countries to sever their diplomatic relations with the Zionist regime [of Israel] and also scale down their economic ties with the US to the minimum,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the US “has driven the last nail in the coffin of the so-called peace trend in the Middle East.”

US President Donald Trump’s decision was positively received in Israel and prompted negative reaction by many countries. People have started protesting all over the Muslim world, also in Israel.
