Luxembourg leads the list of EU countries, where discrimination is most widespread, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights said in a statement.

According to the statement, Finland took the second place. Austria occupied the third place, followed by Denmark, Sweden, Malta, Germany and Ireland.

“Seventeen years after adoption of EU laws that forbid discrimination, immigrants, descendants of immigrants, and minority ethnic groups continue to face widespread discrimination across the EU and in all areas of life – most often when seeking employment. For many, discrimination is a recurring experience,” said FRA Director Michael O’Flaherty. (http://fra.europa.eu/en/publication/2017/eumidis-ii-main-results)

A total of 25,500 randomly selected first- and second-generation immigrants and members of ethnic minorities from all 28 EU Member State took part in the survey.
