The US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has no respect for the rights of Palestinians and proves the US has never been an honest mediator in the peace process in the Middle East, Iranian President Hasan Rouhani said on Twitter.

 “The recent decision by the US admin made it clear that the US is only seeking to secure the maximum interests of the Zionists and has no respect for the legitimate rights of Palestinians. The US has never been an honest mediator and will never be,” Hassan Rouhani tweeted. 

Last week, US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The US decision was positively received in Israel and prompted negative reaction by many countries. People have started protesting all over the Muslim world, also in Israel.
