YEREVAN. – A 13-year-old Karaabakh boy who was wounded in Azerbaijani shelling in the schoolyard during the April war is almost not using the crutches, his mother told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

A metal plate will be removed from Vardan Andreasyan’s leg next April.

“He goes to school in Yerevan and he is almost not using crutches, only when he is too tired. Sometimes he has pain but it is linked to changes in the weather,” his mother said.

Vardan is very busy because he works hard at school. The boy dreams of becoming a doctor to help people.

The was wounded during the shelling of the school by Azerbaijani armed forces in April 2016. Another boy, Gevorg Grigoryan, who also wounded in the shelling. Gevork's brother, 12-yeaar-old Vaginak, was killed.
