After Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s recent statements, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman called—from his Facebook page—for reviewing the Jewish state’s economic relations with Turkey, reported TASS Russian News Agency.

In response to Washington’s decision to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Turkish President Erdoğan on Sunday stated about Turkey’s plan to open an embassy in East Jerusalem.

“In recent months, Turkey’s President Erdoğan was using all the possible occasions for open provocations against the Jewish state,” wrote the Israeli minister of defense. “I believe we [Israel] need to review many things in relations with Turkey.”

In particular, Lieberman noted that he is “against the construction of a [natural] gas pipeline from Israel to Europe via Turkey.” “I believe it will be a huge strategic mistake if the so called valve of our pipeline be in Erdoğan’s hands,” explained the Israeli official.
