STEPANAKERT. – President of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), Bako Sahakyan, on Monday toured an exhibition devoted to Catholicos Karekin I of the Great House of Cilicia—in Antelias, Lebanon—of the Armenian Apostolic Church.

The exhibition was organized at the Artsakh capital city Stepanakert Culture and Youth Palace, and within the framework of festive events marking the 150th birth anniversary of the Catholicos, Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

President Sahakyan stressed that Catholicos Karekin I of the Great House of Cilicia belonged to the constellation of great Armenians, whose contribution to strengthening the Armenian Apostolic Church in the difficult historical and geopolitical period, developing religious and public life, maintaining the Armenian national identity in the Diaspora, and cementing the Motherland-Diaspora ties was inestimable, and added that the people of Artsakh are proud to have such a compatriot.
