Facebook INC announced on Monday that it had removed about three million posts, videos, ads and other types of content from its services during the first half of 2017, following the complaints of copyright and trademark infringement, CNBC reported.

The protection of international information to copyright and intellectual property is an innovation for Facebook, a deputy general counsel of the company Chris Sonderby said in his blog.

According to the 9th Facebook Transparency Report, the government requests for account data increased by 21% globally compared to the second half of 2016.

Facebook removed 3 million posts: 81% of them were fake, 68% were removed for copyright infringement and 47% for trademark infringement.
