YEREVAN. – The “Right Steering Wheel” initiative, which fights against the bill that bans the import of right-hand steering wheel cars into Armenia, on Monday is holding a protest action in front of the government building.

The initiative members demand a talk with Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan.

They on Sunday carried out an awareness car rally in capital city Yerevan.

The Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies has submitted a bill, which proposes making an amendment to the law on ensuring road traffic safety in Armenia. The argument for submitting this draft law is that the use of right-hand steering wheel vehicles is technically hazardous in the country. And accordingly, it is proposed to ban the import of such cars into Armenia, as of April 1.
