YEREVAN. – The Investigative Committee of Armenia has launched a criminal case into Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Defense Army serviceman Vache Chilingaryan’s killing by the Azerbaijani side, on the line of contact.
Junior Sergeant Chilingaryan sustained a fatal gunshot wound, on Sunday at around 1:20pm, in the direction of a combat position of the protection area of an NKR Defense Army military unit, and from a shot fired by the adversary, the Investigative Committee informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Noticing what had occurred, Senior Lieutenant Y. Musinyan and contract soldier, driver D. Vanyan, rushed to Chilingaryan’s assistance. But they, too, sustained gunshot wounds from the shots fired by the adversary. They were taken to the military hospital, and their injuries are not life-threatening.
An investigation is underway into this criminal case.
