The death toll in floods and mudslides in South California rose to 18 and at least five are still missing, Fox News reported quoting Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown.

According to the authorities, around 60 houses were destroyed and almost 450 were damaged. Heavy rains started in California on Monday with evacuation order issued in several districts of the state. Some people refused to leave their homes.
