YEREVAN. – There are no Armenians among the victims in floods and mudslides in South California, the publisher and editor of California Courier Harut Sassounian told Armenian New-NEWS.am.
According to him, few Armenians live in the areas affected by floods and mudslides, including Santa Barbara.
As reported earlier, the death toll in floods and mudslides in South California rose to 18 and at least 30 people were injured.
According to the authorities, around 60 houses were destroyed and almost 450 were damaged. Heavy rains started in California on Monday with evacuation order issued in several districts of the state. Some people refused to leave their homes.
