Incumbent President Miloš Zeman and Jiří Drahoš, a physical chemist and politician who served as President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, will face each other in the second round of presidential elections in the Czech Republic, and which will be conducted on January 26 and 27.

TASS news agency of Russia reported the aforesaid citing the Czech Statistical Office, which has tallied Saturday’s first-round voting results.

Accordingly, Zeman led the race with 38.56 percent, while Drahoš had won 26.6 percent.

Voting turnout in the first round was 61.92 percent.
