The EU should focus on the need to secure its external borders, said German Chancellor Angela Merkel and her Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurtz at a press conference in Berlin on Wednesday.
Angela Merkel said that the parties discussed bilateral relations, migration and finance during the meeting, AP reported.
Europe should be operational in security and migration policies, protecting external borders and partnership with Africa, noted Merkel.
According to Kurtz, he remained “convinced that the solution for the migration question is in the orderly protection of exterior borders.”
