Russia sees it necessary to accelerate the development of digital economy within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The aforesaid is noted in President Vladimir Putin’s message addressed to the leaders of the other EAEU countries, and in connection with Russia’s assumption—as of January 1—of the chairmanship of the supreme bodies of this union. 

This message has been posted on the Kremlin official website, reported TASS news agency of Russia.

Also, the Russian president urged to introduce high tech in public administration, industry, customs regulation and some other domains, as well as to produce “a jointly competitive, innovative and knowledge-based industry.”

The Eurasian Economic Union comprises Armenia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
