Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan of Armenia on Monday met in Davos, Switzerland, with President Dominique de Buman of the National Council of Switzerland.

First, Karapetyan congratulated De Buman on being elected to this office. Subsequently, he presented the economic situation, the ongoing reforms and programs, and the measures to improve business climate in Armenia.

He stressed that Armenia-Switzerland trade has increased 3.5 times in 2017, as compared with the previous year, and noted that there is great potential to further develop this trade.

The interlocutors considered the avenues for the establishment of a bilateral chamber of commerce, as well as for collaboration in several domains and for engaging Swiss businesses in these domains.

Also, the Armenian PM and the National Council chairman reflected on the prospects for launching flights between Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan and Zurich, Switzerland.
