STRASBOURG. – During their talk Wednesday in Strasbourg, France, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Council of Europe (CoE) Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.

Sargsyan told about the above-said during their briefing with reporters, after their meeting, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent informed from Strasbourg.

“I thanked Mr. Jagland for supporting the efforts by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs, which is essential in terms of pushing the negotiation process forward,” noted Sargsyan. “I reaffirmed the support to the viewpoint, which was repeatedly voiced by the democratic secretary, that there should not be ‘grey areas’ in Europe on the matter of human rights protection. This means that the Council of Europe should equally perceive the rights of citizens living in conflict zones, [and] being guided by the precept of neutrality on the status issue.”
