YEREVAN. – Armenia was intensifying cooperation with Iran in 2017 in the political, economic, legal, scientific, technical and cultural fields, Armenian Foreign Ministry said in an annual report summing up 2017.
On August 5-6, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan participated in the inauguration ceremony of his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani. Armenian and Iranian presidents held talks during the visit.
On October 9-10, an Armenian delegation headed by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan paid an official visit to Tehran. Karen Karapetyan met Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, speaker of the Majlis Ali Larijani and Iranian vice-president Eshaq Jahangiri.
On November 28, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif paid a visit to Armenia, where he held talks with his Armenian counterpart.
