The social network Facebook banned the advertisement of crypto-currencies, binory options and initial coin offerings, the company said in a statement.

 “We’ve created a new policy that prohibits ads that promote financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency,” the statement reads.

The company explained that they want people to continue to open and learn about new products and services through advertisements on Facebook, without fear of fraud or deception. Nevertheless, there are many companies that advertise binary options, ICO and crypto-currencies, which at the moment are not trustworthy.

The ads that violate the new rules will be deleted not only from the main application, but also from everywhere where Facebook sells advertising opportunities.

Facebook is working to improve the ability to identify deceptive and misleading methods of advertising.
