An Armenian man has opened a lavash bread bakery in Diyarbakır, for the first time in the history of Turkey.

This Armenian, Erhan Yaman, said he had lived in Turkey’s Muş town for many years, where there were numerous lavash bread bakeries; but since they did not exist in Diyarbakır, he deemed necessary to open such a bakery here, the Akunq.net correspondent reported from Diyarbakır.

When the bakery was ready with the help of masters from Armenia, Yaman brought over three lavash bread masters, also from Armenia, to teach him and his brothers how to bake this bread.

And the Ararat Tandır [(Tandoor)] Lavaş bakery ceremoniously opened recently, with the participation of Diyarbakır Armenians.
