A fast-moving botnet has already infected thousands of Android devices, Bleeping Computer reported.
The botnet is targeting port 5555, which is used by an important component of the Android system and provides access to key functions. Penetrating into the device, the botnet forces it to mine Montero cryptocurrency.
According to experts, at least 7.4 thousand Android devices have been infected.
A dangerous program, called ADB.miner, uses the code components of the Mirai botnet, which was appeared in 2016, considering the largest botnet in the world.
