YEREVAN. – The cooperation between Armenia and Switzerland has been strengthened, since the tragic earthquake in Armenia, said the President of Swiss National Council Dominique de Buman at a joint press conference with Armenian Parliament Speaker Ara Babloyan in Yerevan.

According to him, significant advantage for the development of the Armenian-Swiss relations was the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Swiss Parliament in 2003.

Switzerland will continue to pay attention to agriculture, particularly, to the winemaking, said Buman adding that the wines produced in Armenia had already been imported to Switzerland.

The head of the Swiss delegation noted that Switzerland has already invested about $ 12 million to build a dam in southern Armenia.

According to the President of Swiss National Council, the only possible option for the Armenian economic development is the opening of the borders.

Dominique de Buman concluded that he would welcome the visit of his Armenian counterpart Ara Babloyan to Switzerland.
