Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Wednesday chaired a consultation, during which were presented the activities by the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia in 2017, and its plans for the current year.

Karapetyan deemed it indispensable to develop Armenia’s small aviation, especially underscoring the need to launch flights to Meghri town—considering its recently opened free economic zone.

Also, the PM highlighted the steps by various international airlines towards developing Armenia’s capital city Yerevan as a transit direction, and he gave clear respective instructions.

In addition, the Premier instructed to clearly devise the 2018 plan and targets for expanding of flights, increasing of air passenger traffic, including of low-cost airlines, and developing of small aviation in Armenia.
