YEREVAN. – The development of transport communication is of primary importance for the development of relations. 

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated the above-said at Monday’s joint news conference in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia, with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

In his words, it is indispensable to see to it that both businessmen and tourists as well ordinary people can communicate with one another. In this sense, he stressed the importance of the Black Sea corridor project and pointed to the shortage of direct flights.

“The problem is the absence of a national carrier,” noted the Bulgarian president. He added that, to this end, the development of private companies should be intensified.

Highlighting the ongoing cooperation along the lines of Eastern Partnership, President Radev said regional stability will enable to develop economy and that this is in the interest of both Armenia and Bulgaria.

“Armenia is a Eurasian Economic Union member, and it can reap economic benefits from the agreement it signed with the EU,” noted the Bulgarian president.

In his words, cooperation is possible also in security.

“Armenia is an active member of the Partnership for Peace program,” added Rumen Radev. “We can be mutually beneficial. The Armenian side can attend the military exercises planned in Bulgaria.”
