South African president Jacob Zuma has announced that he is stepping down, reported Reuters.

Such a decision is conditioned by the respective demand by the ruling African National Congress (ANC).

In his 30-minute message, Zuma, 75, announced, however, that he disagrees with the ANC decision.

The ruling party had given Jacob Zuma 48 hours to resign on his own accord.
