After their talk in Ankara, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Friday held a joint news conference.

Çavuşoğlu stated that, at the meeting, he had yet again informed the American side about Turkey’s concerns over the Gülen movement—which is led by US-based Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gülen—and Syrian Kurds, according to BirGün newspaper of Turkey.

Also, the Turkish FM noted that, to make future cooperation with the US objective, it was decided to create coordinating mechanisms in connection with disputed matters, so that no problem is overlooked in the course of time.

Tillerson on Thursday had met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the talk had lasted three hours, and its translation was entrusted to Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.

The main topic of this meeting was the latest developments regarding Syria and Iraq.
