According to the state-run Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Syrian army has foiled an infiltration attempt by a terrorist group from Lebanon into the Homs Governorate, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.
The clashes between them, according to the SANA reporter, ended up with thwarting the attempt and killing a member of the terrorist group while the rest fled back to Lebanon.
Ever since the beginning of the crisis, terrorists have used the virtually-impassable mountainous regions on the Lebanon-Syria border to smuggle drugs, weapons and ammunition, and to transfer newly recruited militants.
