President Aliyev's territorial claims reaching as far as Yerevan, are nothing but delirium which can have serious consequences if Europe turns a blind eye to it, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said.

The efforts to resolve the Karabakh issue can serve as an example of how Russia, the EU, and the US can positively coordinate their positions for the benefit of international peace and security, Sargsyan said in his address during the Munich Security Conference.

The Armenian president answered the question of Azerbaijani delegate saying the Karabakh issue can be resolved only when Azerbaijan gets down to reality and abandons its unrealistic expectations.

A passenger plane with 66 people on board crashed in Isfahan province of Iran on Sunday.

A group of criminals had kidnapped Armenian businessman Suren Mamyan in the Ukrainian capital city of Kyiv, handcuffed him, and demanded a $500,000 ransom from his relatives.

Kyiv police rescued him on February 17, two weeks after he was kidnapped. Several persons were detained.

A school of advanced Chinese-language teaching will function in Armenia as of September, Armenian education minister Levon Mkrtchyan said.

 

The school will function through a special program, and the Chinese side has invested US$11 million to this program. It will be an ordinary Armenian school, where we will begin the teaching of Chinese from the fifth grade, he said.

The exchange rate for one euro fell below 600 drams on Monday. The rate made  AMD 596.64 falling by 5.88 drams as compared to Friday. The American dollar’s exchange rate comprised AMD 480.81/$1.
