The great Armenian conductor Ohan Duryan died on January 6 morning, at the age of 87.

Ohan Duryan was born in Jerusalem, September 2, 1922. After graduating from Jerusalem Conservatoire he was going to travel about Europe. However, finally found himself in Armenia. In 1960s he was chief conductor of the Armenian State Philharmonic Society. From 1971 onward he was conductor of the State Opera and Ballet Theater. Ohan Duryan worked with 110 symphony orchestras.
