The Turkish side sent police special forces to Afrin to protect the civilian population, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag told NTV broadcaster, Reuters reported.
“The entrance of the special forces is in preparation for the new battle that is approaching,” said Bekir Bozdag.
According to him, Turkish air strikes on Kurdish positions are expected to continue.
