YEREVAN. – The several legislative amendments and the statements by representatives of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) attest to the fact that—President and RPA Chairman—Serzh Sargsyan’s candidacy will be nominated for the office of the next Prime Minister.

Nikol Pashinyan, head of the opposition “Way Out” Faction of the National Assembly (NA), expressed such a view at Monday’s parliamentary briefings.

At the same time, he noted that, during the NA election for the next PM, Sargsyan will for some time leave power, to all appearances.

“I mean [from] April 9 to 16,” Pashinyan explained. “At that time, he will not hold any office.”

Also, the Way Out bloc leader stressed that their respective action will depend on the people’s will.

In Nikol Pashinyan’s conviction, since the relevant time is short, all related questions will be answered within a week.
